Quick Overview

The wine: Ripe blackcurrants, black cherries and raspberries all come to mind as you sip this fruity, easy-drinking Cabernet. But there's far more style and structure than in the usual Chilean red. Super flavour.

The story: Before 1997, Viãa Siegel only sold bulk wine to the biggest Chilean wineries. Now, their own winery has a capacity of 2 million gallons and they own 1,300 acres of vineyards. For the Cabernet Sauvignon , the grapes are grown in the Colchagua Valley, famous for its high quality red grapes. Here, the warmer climate and low humidity leads to a fuller ripeness, superb pure fruit and low, low levels of disease in the vineyards. This is a garden of Eden for grape growers.

All kinds of rich and saucy stews or braised meat dishes will go well with this Cabernet. This fruity Cabernet also brings out the flavour in slow-cooked lamb daube or boeuf bourgignon.
