The wine: Siete Cuchillos are the cheapest wines in the Familia Cassone stable and yet the grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes, and the wine is made with total care in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. No oak is used, leaving them crisp and fresh and fruity.
The story In a dramatic landscape surrounded by the Andes mountain range and dominated by the majestic Aconcagua peak, the Cassone family have their winery. This is Mayor Drummond, in Mendoza - and it's considered one of the best in Argentina. It also gives us a glimpse into the past as they still have some 100-year-old vines and some ungrafted vines that have escaped the dreaded
Phylloxera. Here they have the perfect climate for
viticulture.
